✛ About Pioneership
The 10-minute Pioneership Assessment shows your primary and secondary types across eight ways of contributing. Use your Profile to choose work that fits your strengths and recognise where support can help.
What we believe
A demanding role can make it feel as though one person should set the direction, generate every idea, move at full speed and manage every detail. New work succeeds when different strengths are given room to contribute.
Someone who spots opportunities early may spend most of their week managing detailed delivery. Someone who makes work dependable may receive most recognition for generating new ideas. In both cases, their strongest contribution has limited room to show.
Pioneership gives these differences a clear language. Your Profile shows how you approach new work, which contributions come most naturally and where complementary strengths, clearer processes or new habits can help.

See where your strengths can create value as tasks and expectations change.
The Full Profile presents all eight types as a spectrum, including your primary and secondary contribution types.
Why Pioneership was created
Pioneership began with a pattern Jay Thomson saw throughout 25 years of leading digital and technology work across consumer brands, professional services, health, finance and other sectors.
Capable people often became frustrated because their roles gave them little room to use their strongest contribution. Teams felt the same problem as unclear ownership, repeated tension or important work left uncovered.
Jay created Pioneership to give people and teams a practical language for understanding those contribution patterns and using them in everyday work.

How the assessment works
Pioneership measures how you contribute when something new is being built. Your answers are scored across two axes and resolved into a primary and secondary type across the full eight-type spectrum.
Shows where your contribution sits between pioneering the new and perfecting the proven.
Shows where your attention sits between seeing patterns and moving work through to completion.
The same answers always produce the same scores. AI writes the explanation after the scores are calculated.
Each axis carries a measurement band based on the consistency of your answers, so a close result is presented as close.
What the assessment shows
Your Profile shows your primary and secondary contribution types across four areas of work. It gives you specific points to use in role choices, team conversations and personal development.
Where you contribute best
